چکیده

Extraskeletal osteosarcoma is a rare soft tissue sarcoma and is in many ways distinct from skeletal osteosarcoma, including demographics, imaging feature, prognosis and management. We present a case of extraskeletal osteosarcoma arising from the retroperitoneum with dense ossification proved to be osteosarcoma by surgical resection. We describe the computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, and discuss the radiological differential diagnosis of a primary retroperitoneal extraskeletal osteosarcoma. Well-Differentiated Extraskeletal Osteosarcoma Arising from the Retroperitoneum That Recurred as Anaplastic Spindle Cell Sarcoma

Extraskeletal osteosarcoma is an uncommon high-grade malignant soft tissue sarcoma. Well-differentiated extraskeletal osteosarcoma is thought to have a better prognosis than classical extraskeletal osteosarcoma, but dedifferentiation after recurrence has also been reported. We present a case of a primary retroperitoneal extraskeletal osteosarcoma in a 62-year-old Japanese woman. Abdominal CT re...

Gastric wall implantation metastasis of retroperitoneal extraskeletal osteosarcoma: A case report and review of the literature

Retroperitoneal extraskeletal osteosarcoma (ESOS) is a rare and highly invasive tumor that is usually diagnosed at an advanced stage due to the insidious onset. The present study analyses a case of retroperitoneal ESOS and its clinical, radiological and therapeutic conditions, and also provides a review of the literature. A 52-year-old male was diagnosed with retroperitoneal ESOS. The patient s...

[18F]FDG PET/CT in a case of recurrent primary cardiac osteosarcoma

Primary cardiac osteosarcoma is a very rare malignancy with a high incidence of local recurrence and systemic metastasis, contributing to the poor prognosis. Radiological modalities are commonly used for the evaluation of cardiac masses. 2-[18F]fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose ([18F]FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography is a valuable whole-body imaging modality in ...

Extraskeletal Ewing’s Sarcoma of Neck in a Child- A Case Report

Introduction: Ewing's sarcoma (ES) is an extremely rare bone malignancy observed in otorhinolaryngeal practice. In otorhinolaryngology, it sometimes involves the facial bones and cervical vertebrae. In children, ES is the second most common primary malignancy of bone after osteosarcoma. Extraskeletal Ewing’s sarcoma (EES) is an extremely rare malignancy of mesenchymal cell origin. The EES...

Primary breast osteosarcoma: dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging, proton spectroscopy and diffusion weighted imaging findings.

Dear Editor, Primary pure osteosarcoma of the breast is a rare malignant tumour and is histologically indistinguishable from conventional osteosarcoma of the bone and other extraskeletal sites. Being a rare entity that is briefl y reported in the radiology literature, it has some interesting imaging features worthy of discussion. Here we report the novel fi ndings of dynamic contrast-enhanced M...
